Indonesia Coal Reserves and Operations

The coal deposits in Sangatta region is under geological condition resulting in organic deposits which over the years, converted in to thick, clean coal seams containing usually ‘low levels of ash. The concession has mineable reserve of about 50 million tonnes.

At present, the PT Hardeo, Mines concession area where the operations are being carried out, coal occurs in about 16 seams. Seam thickness varies from 0.8 meter to 3 meters, with most in the range of 2 to 3 meters.

Dips normally vary between 30 degree and 40 degree. The overburden consists of mud and sandstones.

In order to carry out mining operation PT Hardeo Mines has employed mining fleet of hauling trucks for transportation of overburden and coal, excavators and dozers of OB and coal digging, tippers and other mobile equipments along with road roller (Compactor) and wheel loaderfor construction] maintenance of hauling road for transportation of OB and coal. These fleets of equipments and hauling trucks would be increased to cope up with the increased production. The mining contractors operate their own fleets of

equipments and / or utilize rental equipments. The coal mined is transported to“ coast where it is stacked to a stock pile for crushing before sale.
